| Reportedly, when a crane company in Columbia, South Carolina boomed out and down, they were working off the chart and still 11 feet short of their drop point (the crane was set up 1" from the building). They were shut down, the owner was called and told to take corrective measures (and they might want to bring a bigger crane and a competent operator). The owner's solution was to crib the crane up high enough to "maybe" reach the drop point. Needless to say, he wasn't allowed to make the lift.
